The Jewish Childrens Folkshul Martin Luther King Program
Sunday, January 19, 2014

Each year, the Jewish Childrens Folkshul presents a program in memory of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.s birthday. The program ties into the Social Action theme for the year. This year is a continuation of last years Immigration theme. The program will be on Sunday,January 19 from 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, 8000 Cherokee Street, Chestnut Hill.

At this years event, the students and community will engage in discussion about what it means to be different. To encourage spontaneous replies, not much information is being revealed. Judy Heath, the Schools Bnai Mitzvah Coordinator is organizing the program and explains: We will do a very short introduction to Martin Luther King. We will then break into small groups and team leaders will present questions. Each person will have a chance to speak. We will tell people not to argue with someone elses opinion. This is just a time to express ones own views.
